Level 4 Chess Competition

This was the first time we ran a level 4 competition which gave a chance for the top kids from previous level 3 competitions to play against adults from the Galway Chess Club for a first prize of €75.

This competition had 12 entrants and was played over 5 rounds. with Jarek Wieczorek from Poland winning the competition impressively on 5/5. Jarek has been a regular at the chess club on Thursday nights in the Bridge Centre and the practice has obviously stood to him!

Manuel Gonzalez from Spain was runner up on 4/5. There were 2 grading prizes which went to Mark Monahan and Dominic Hallinan
